Meet Boomer! This 60# handsome guy is around a year old and a total puppy! Boomer is current on all necessary vetting and he is neutered.

Boomer 110% loves to play with dogs. To adopt Boomer, you must have at least one other young dog that LOVES to play. Boomer absolutely loves to rough house with other dogs. He will antagonize my dogs and gets so giddy when they are biting him and rough playing with him. He never fights back and just lets them beat up on him.

Boomer has one speed and it’s “wide open.” Boomer has a LOT of energy and requires daily exercise. To adopt Boomer, you must have a large fenced in yard that he cannot escape from. He loves to play with toys of all kinds. He enjoys fetch, although he doesn’t quite understand the concept. He loves to chew and will chew up toys and bones. If he does not have things to chew on, he will chew on in appropriate items (shoes, clothes, rugs, etc.) It is very important that Boomer gets adequate exercise to prevent these destructive behaviors. He also must be crated when not home.  He does sometimes bark and cry in the crate.  While he may be trusted in a mud room or bathroom, he does scratch at doors and would likely damage doors/walls.

Boomer enjoys going on hikes in the woods. He is very aloof to strangers, especially those that are walking with other dogs, however, he is super submissive and adores people. He does get car sick and rides best in the car in a crate. He is absolutely quiet as a mouse in the crate in the car. He doesn’t like jumping up in the car, so he requires someone to lift him up.

Boomer has a couple puppy habits that I am working tirelessly to combat. He does jump on people and he scratches at doors. Because of this, a home with small children might not be ideal. He is also afraid of the vacuum cleaner and absolutely terrified of the fire place.

Boomer has been an absolute joy to foster. He keeps a smile on my face and he keeps my personal dogs very busy. He has learned to live with many dogs and does so well with them. He does have a difficult time calming down, therefore, he must be crated at night time. He is used to being home while I work and also coming to work with me. He is the happiest dog out there.

We are also certain Boomer is hard of hearing but he can hear some sounds. Boomer cannot be trusted with cats or small animals. He is fine with small dogs.
